Summary
“This place used to be a school. Or a church. Maybe both. Sometimes there’s not much difference.” She had said it smiling, as if the words didn’t mean a thing.
But for Seulgi, it meant everything.
Because in that instant, she understood that it didn’t matter what that place had once been.
School. Church. Ruin.
As long as Jaeyi had been there, that space was an altar.
And she —Seulgi— was nothing more than a passing believer.

Summary
She kissed her again, and this time her hands claimed the body without restraint. Jaeyi slid a palm down her bare, warm stomach and slipped her fingers into the waistband of Seulgi’s pants.
Slowly. As if she wanted to stretch out the wait. As if every second before the contact was part of the sweet punishment they both craved.
And when she finally touched her, Seulgi arched against the wall with a broken sigh.
“Shit, Jaeyi…”
“Oh, not so proud anymore, are you?”

Summary
Seulgi shifts a little closer to her, brushing the back of her hand with her knuckles. “You already are.”
“Are what?”
“A queen. A survivor. A constellation. All of that.”
Jaeyi closes her eyes for a moment, as if she wants to keep those words in a glass box. Then she opens them and looks at her.
“And what are you, Seulgi?”
She thinks. Looks at the sky. Feels the sand beneath her back. The salty taste on her lips. The light weight of Jaeyi on her shoulder. And she says:
“Your sea.”

Summary
“Did you know that fish can recognize each other?”
Jaeyi tilts her head at the sudden comment.
“Really?”
“Yeah, at least some of them.” Seulgi responds, feeling a sudden need to explain. “Clownfish, for example, can remember other fish they’ve interacted with before.”
Jaeyi looks at her, thoughtful.
“So… if we were fish, do you think we would have recognized each other?”
