“There you are, you rascal!” The man said, reaching his arms out to grab his daughter. He burrowed his face into her neck, blowing raspberries. Liana laughed, hitting lightly at him.
“Daddy, stop!” she squealed.
Tella realized who he was with a start, and her growing smile faded fast. But, it couldn’t be him.
And yet, it had to be. There may be a few new lines on his face (especially around his eyes, which she found odd), but those eyes were the same ones she had stared into all those years ago.
Her hand grasped for Evelyn’s. “We must go,” she told her.
Donatella runs into Jacks after eight long years, and begins to wonder just how much they've both changed.
