This fic is a somewhat canon-compliant domestic life and crime noir story and assumes you are caught up in Limbus Company. And maybe the Jade Ring, for context.

Summary
Ishmael’s a rookie officer in a city without order, riddled with crime. She doesn’t even want to be here, but it’s her job, her duty. What kind of maniac would think about cleaning up this place?
Rodion is running for District Attorney in a city without justice, courtrooms riddled with corruption and injustice. It’s insane, trying to stick to the law in The City of all places. What kind of person would even try to wring out justice in this place?
Hong Lu is the rich kid upstairs, doing absolutely nothing as he watches the dirt downstairs. It’s pointless anyway, people in this City are born to die. But yet, something inside him urges him to action, it’s hard to ignore the night cries. But how can he do anything hopeful in a city without hope? He needs something more than a person….
TLDR; Ishmael is Officer Gordon, Rodion is Assistant District Attorney, and Hong Lu is The Batman.
