As he wrapped his hand around the jewel, Kaito felt something shift, as if the world had suddenly turned upside down and right back up again all in the span of a second. He ignored the spin his stomach did in his gut and the alarmed cries of police officers, and looked up - into a pair of dark blue eyes staring at him in shock, one of which was hidden behind a round monocle just like his own.
