    Summary

"I have seen it," he said, "the great loneliness that lies ahead of you on the path you have to take. It cannot be avoided, but it can be met."

"You could come west with me," Aloy said. "You could help me like you did before."

Aratak grimaced a smile, "I am neither young nor honorless, Aloy. My time for wandering has passed and will not come again."

When Aloy returns to the Cut to speak with CYAN about questions of engineering and to bide her time before a departure into the West that she knows must come, she fails to anticipate the deeper continuities and solidarities that her curiosity might reveal not only between herself and the Old Ones, but between herself and Aratak.

    Summary

All Cody wanted from the Jedi was a competent, fair general; so that he could focus on keeping his men safe, and maybe trying to live up to the name Jango Fett had bestowed on him.

Nothing could have prepared him for Kenobi save for the experience itself: crashing across the galaxy, from caf-and-stims-fueled battlefield highs down to heady fluorescent ship-side lows.

But then, he supposes, this war had a habit of exceeding his expectations, in all the best and worst ways. This is that story through Cody's eyes.

    Summary

Luke couldn’t make out much of what the kid looked like at first with the sun glare, just that he was stocky and small and pressed his little hands against the window. Then he pressed his whole tiny face against the window, his big eyes focused on Luke. His hair was long, curly, and brown and his pudgy little baby hands hit the window occasionally. The arm wrapped around him just seemed like it was there to steady him, and after a moment he saw that back of someone’s sweatshirt, like whichever parent had come to save the baby was sitting backwards on the sill while they let him amuse himself with the forbidden outside world.

The baby gave him a toothy grin and waved. When Luke waved back, he clapped his hands and started talking, or probably babbling, to the adult that was holding him. He bounced up and down as he babbled.

    And Luke just melted.

So, he did what any respectable adult would in that situation: he went cross-eyed, puffed out his cheeks, and waved his hands on either side of his face until the baby laughed.

    Summary

Jango is over ten years late for his wedding.

If he’s being honest with himself - and he’s trying to be these days - he’d genuinely forgotten about the whole thing. He’s got excuses, and good ones, but it’s hardly a solid start to a relationship, arranged or otherwise.
