It’s karma for the Pop-Tarts she stole when she was a teenager. That has to be why the world hates Emma. She thought she was getting it together by running a foundation to help children in the foster system, but apparently she didn’t have it together enough to keep the place running. Merry Christmas to her.

Set after 3x16 and before 3x17. Let’s pretend season 3B happened during Christmas time and Hook had to adjust to all of Storybrooke’s traditions on his own and that more time passed between Neal’s death and Hook’s curse. (Because it suits me.)
When Hook learns about mistletoe, he starts carrying it around with him, all the time -- just in case Emma decides to join in the fun that was promised and kiss him. Except it doesn’t exactly go according to his plans.

Summary
There were three things certain in Killian Jones’s life.
1) His brother was his idol.
2) He was helplessly in love with Emma Swan.
3) She absolutely didn’t love him back.She’d made that clear five years ago when he left the city. So when he was forced to return to Boston once more, to a place he swore he’d never go back to, Killian had never expected to see Emma Swan again, much less at Liam’s funeral.
Losing his only brother was devastating. Learning what he had done was worse.
