There’s a beat of silence. Henry feels Alex shift and warm fingers wrap around his wrists. “Us?” Alex asks, a laugh hidden under his dulcet tone. “You’re upset we can’t get pregnant?”
“Not we,” Henry says petulantly, kicking his legs like a small toddler having a tantrum. “Me.”
“You?” Alex asks. There’s definitely a laugh in his voice now. Henry rips his forearms off his eyes and glares, watery eyed at his husband.
“This,” he says, his voice thick with emotion, “Is no laughing matter, Alex.”
