Summary
Obi-Wan couldn’t help but be reminded of a similar scene: a sleepy boy with messy flaxen hair struggling to keep his eyes open through his first morning lesson, blinking as sunspots dance on his face. Obi-Wan had reached out to him then, ruffling his hair even more, startling him awake as the boy laughed.
The Jedi felt his hand twitch at his side, desperate to reach out again. Something stopped him, as it always did these days, and his hand awkwardly hovered in the air. There was some kind of barrier between them now, and Obi-Wan wasn’t sure if it was simply because Anakin was not a little boy anymore, or if it was something else, something vast and ominous growing between them, that Obi-Wan didn’t dare to examine closer.
Or, Obi-Wan and Anakin have a sleep-deprived-trauma-fueled conversation (you know how it is) that reopens some old wounds.
