Summary
Against all odds, Martin and Jon survive the fall of the Panopticon and wind up Somewhere Else. The only problem is that Somewhere Else is odd, in a way that neither of them were expecting. On top of everything else, they're having to deal with secondary sex, mating cycles, and new social roles.

Summary
The thing is, the thoughts aren't even exactly lewd. It's more like...the way he would see a cashmere scarf on a rack at a store, and he would reach out automatically to touch it, because some part of his hindbrain knew the texture would feel soft and nice in his hand.
The only difference is, he doesn't usually have these kinds of intrusive thoughts several times a day, and they've never been exclusively directed at a feature of his co-worker's anatomy.
fill for kink meme prompt: Jon has An Inappropriate Thought about Martin’s chest, and then spends months frantically repressing it. Martin, when he finds out, thinks this is absolutely hilarious.

Summary
Sometimes Martin envies type A people their extensive vocabulary of subvocalizations. They get to use their subvocal suite to communicate perfectly reasonable things, like back off and that's mine and hello sexy. Unlike Martin, whose subvocals exist for the sole purpose of making him sound like the biggest, whiniest baby. Especially when he's coming up on a heat.
Martin keeps it under wraps as best he can, but there's only so long he can hold it in. So, sometimes, after a long workday, Martin double-checks that everyone else has left the archives, makes sure the door at the top of the stairs is locked, and lets loose a bit. Throws himself a little pity party. He's entitled to it. He's earned it.
Specifically, it's the kind of pity party that involves relaxing the muscles of his throat, feeling the vibrating thrum building up behind his teeth, and exhaling out a mournful trill of hello? I'm here? Is anyone there? I'm here. I'm all alone.
