Christmas at the cabin is Michael's idea.
He finally gets a look at the place in November, when he makes the 90 minute trip into the mountains with Alex to help him prep the cabin for winter. Michael takes in the small, stone fireplace, the galley kitchen with its enamel camp kettle and dish set, and the tiny windows looking out onto a forest alight with bright, fall foliage and says, hands on his slim hips, "We should do Christmas here."
