“Why can’t I just hang out with Cosmo? He’s way more interesting.”
The pastry only anxiously tugged down at the hem of his hoodie, shrinking under the handler’s eyes. “No, it’s fine, Sprout. I’m not an important toon like you. I can just go bake something for later.”
“What? No!” Sprout protested. “You’re important too!”
“No, I’m not.” Cosmo insisted, his voice sounding more vulnerable than he intended, which only served to darken the embarrassed flush on his cheeks. “Not like you.”

Summary
Sprout noticed Cosmo takes the same train as him every day across town for their work commute. He remembers Cosmo from school, where he had a huge crush on him. One packed day, he gets stuck sitting next to Cosmo on the subway, and he feels like he’s going to go crazy if he doesn’t say anything, so he strikes up a conversation.
He discovers Cosmo is so much more interesting than he’d ever realized and he was shamefully in love with him all over again. Head over heels.

“You know what I’m referring to.” The hero spoke simply as he shifted to water the orchids with an equal amount of care. “The situation in the markets.”
“You’re going to have to be a wee bit more specific than that, ‘Nilla.” The beast sniggered, floating to Vanilla’s other side with a grin. “You see, I’ve had many a-‘situation’ in the markets recently.”
Pure Vanilla met Shadow Milk’s eyes with a pensive expression. “You shouldn't play coy with me, Shadow Milk. You owe both I and Clotted Cream cookie an apology.”

Summary
It feels like the world is collapsing. Cosmo is shaking, almost violently, clutching at the cold hard tile below him. His throat constricts, but nothing threatens to spill from his mouth. Not that it could when he had nothing to spit out.
Panicked voices around him fade into fuzzy mumbles in the background. Cosmo only just started to notice how dizzy he was. Were the spots in his vision always there?
The floor feels sort of nice. Nicer than holding himself up on his own two feet. Maybe he could shut his eyes, just for a moment. He could open them again later if he wanted to. But right now, all his body wanted to do was succumb to sleep.
Yeah.
That’s a good idea.

Summary
“Sometimes I wonder, does the moon ever get lonely lighting up the sky by itself?”
This gave Sprout pause as his whisking slowed to a stop. He thought for a moment before answering. “Maybe. But it hardly lights the sky itself, it usually has the help of the stars. How grateful it must be for the stars, hm?”
“But the stars only light up a small fraction of what the moon does.” A small pout sat on Cosmo’s lips, his eyes trained upwards at the window, fixed on the sky.
“But the stars are what really glow. The moon is just a reflection of the sun’s light.” Sprout recalls what he had heard from Brightney, glancing over at Cosmo.
“How grateful the moon must be for the sun, then.”
“But the sun isn’t what accompanies it in the sky.”
