“Are you tired of me?” Cregan shot back. “But seriously, what do you want to do?”
Jace had just asked for another glass but he drank almost all of it in gulp, liquid courage. Maybe lunch wasn’t the best time to do this but it was now or he’d chicken out and spend the rest of the day agonizing about it. That and this restaurant was nearly empty, there was no one around to overhear them and it seemed a neutral enough place.
