He didn’t miss the way Mr du Lac’s eyes kept flitting downwards, even as he said blandly, “I can assign you extra credit exercises, but –”
“Nothing at all?” Lestat repeated, even more meaningfully.
Lestat's favourite professor is on the verge of failing him. Lestat seizes the opportunity to convince him otherwise.

“Jesus,” Daniel said, once his dead heart had stopped racing.
“I don’t care for him,” Armand said. He was tapping away at his iPad. “Tell me. Which word do you think would cause greater offense: vapid or insipid?”
“Insipid,” Daniel said immediately, then, taking a closer look at the screen, “Are you fucking review bombing Lestat’s album?”
“It’s something to do,” Armand sighed.
Daniel just wants to get through The Vampire Lestat's documentary in one piece. The Vampires Lestat, Louis and Armand aren't making it any easier for him.

Louis was not feeling especially charitable towards him at the moment, so as far as true love’s kiss went (a cliche, as if getting cursed wasn't bad enough), Lestat would be getting nowhere.
But it didn’t matter at all. Lestat was scared and miserable and he had a tail and he needed to see him.
Lestat gets on the bad side of a witch. Louis, against his better judgement, gets a cat.

"You did," Lestat continued, starting to smile. Smug and self-satisfied. Louis wanted to bite it off. "You were so overcome by lust, to see me in it, the image of ta mariée vierge –”
Louis barked out an incredulous laugh.
Louis has strong opinions about Lestat's latest stage outfit.

"Well, how did you deal with them all this time?" Louis demanded, and Lestat, by that point far beyond coherent sentences, mumbled something about not having had to, not since Paris.
It took a moment to decipher this, then another for the implications to fully sink in, and then – "You haven't had a heat since the 40s? Lestat!"
Lestat falls headlong into his first heat in nearly eighty years. Louis helps out, as good ex-husbands do.
