Summary
A'rynasea all but self-destructs after Locus drops Washington off on Chorus, and his best option out mandates the help of a talented mechanic. Lopez works at a price: if he fixes a new ship for Locus, Locus has to take the robot with him. Far, far away from the reaches of Red Team.
What they both find in the process is an understanding—a push and pull of parallel lives and misconceptions that have them at each other's throats. For an answer neither of them knows, to a question they're both loath to ask.
In the midst of it all: a call for help that takes them across the known galaxy.

Summary
But now he’s in his mid-thirties, and his age has never felt more apparent. There’s a permanent ache in his bones that’s gotten severe enough to hinder his sniping posture, a reluctant desire to sleep and eat well for once that’s begun nagging at him in his downtime.
He’s never been quick to admit to needing help, but if he intends to live long enough to make up for the mistakes of his adulthood, he has to know when to throw in the towel.
(Or: Locus stops by Iris to recuperate and winds up getting more involved with the Reds and Blues than he ever wanted to be.)

Summary
"What's the plan?"
"You guide me there, we get in, we arm the core, we get to an LZ where Kimball and Wash will have my boys arranged to get us all out of here. It'll be tight, but—" he grimaces as they hit a particularly deep pothole, wrangling back his control over the vehicle. "But I have your back, alright? So don't go panicking on me, now."
As if to prove he won't, Doyle heaves a deep breath. "I know, Colonel. I won't."

Summary
Tucker is too old for nightmares. For all these idyllic little fantasies that keep him up at night, so daunting and tangible in a dream, yet impossible in wake. Nevertheless, they come to him anyway, like a vicious echo of once-affectionate mockery, shaped like a memory.
And Caboose knows. Must feel the same, if the distance his gaze has started to take means anything. Something isn't right anymore and it looms over them, dwarfing even Caboose, despite him towering so far above Tucker in so many ways.
Nights on Iris are cold and indifferent. All they have anymore is one another.
