Summary
“Patrick…we shouldn’t be doing this.” Art won’t meet Patrick’s eyes as he says it, a deep flush across his cheeks.
Patrick reaches up and twists a lock of Art’s hair between his fingers, “Yeah sure we shouldn’t be, Tashi’s not here anymore and all. But don’t you want to? Don’t you think she’d want us to?”
Art looks at him with uncertainty, “What do you mean she would want us to?”
“She said we should figure out how we hold power over each other, and she pushed us together. You can’t tell me you didn’t feel something in that kiss Art, I know you. Maybe now we figure it out. I’m feeling pretty powerful right now,” Patrick says with a smirk.

Shinobu leaned back and gently put the stethoscope around her neck. “Would you mind slipping your shoulders and back out of your uniform?”
She gave Shinobu a nod before gently undoing the top button of her uniform and undershirt. The large hole in the center of her top basically meant that exposing her shoulders and back would require exposing her whole chest. She turned to face the wall the medical bench was pushed against, away from Shinobu and pulled the shirt down, crossing her arms to cover her chest.
She felt the stethoscope on her back yet again and felt Shinobu’s breath on her neck. Shinobu instructed her to breathe in and out again.“Mmm,” she hummed, “your heart rate is quite high Mitsuri, are you nervous?” she questioned in a hushed tone.
Mitsuri turned her head slightly to make eye contact. “No,” she blurted out quickly, whipping her head back to stare at the wall.
“Seems like you're a little nervous,” Shinobu teased. "You know Mitsuri, if you are nervous you should tell me. Otherwise your heart beat is a bit concerning and I would have to run some more tests on you.”

Summary
Patrick thinks of the shape of his name when it’s coming from Art’s mouth, of all the different ways it can sound. He thinks of the way Tashi says his name, the same letters and syllables with a different voice. He thinks of the way they might say each other’s names. He thinks of the way he says both of their names.

"She left because you kiss with too much fucking tongue", Art shoved Patrick, who nearly fell off the bed. "It's too wet", he stated and sighed. Looked at the door, as if Tashi would magically appear again behind it. Knocking, stating her mistake and crawl back into their bed.
"It's not too wet, you asshole. Made you hard enough", Patrick replied.

Summary
Patrick has been a perfectly fine scapegoat for as long as he didn’t have to look him in the eyes—for Tashi, and thus, for Art, because he’d done enough fucked up things to keep the lie believable, to frontload blame, channel every bit of jealousy and self-righteousness and frustration he’s ever felt towards him and bury his memory into something warped, but they’re too close now to avoid the inevitable blow up. The buried truth.
The truth is, they’re each other’s inverse in that Patrick will betray others to prove to himself that he’s a scumbag, and Art will betray himself to feel less guilty about what he wants.
The truth is, Art knows repression first and second hand, literally, and he’s done good forgetting.
