Summary
Calidara Malfoy is the antithesis of 'Malfoy'. She hates opulence, doesn't let house elves pamper her, and hasn't touched the Firebolt her aunt and uncle bought her. She doesn't like media attention and hates spending money. And she has absolutely no problem with Muggles. But her old friends seem to think she's fallen to the Dark side since she moved into the Mansion and there's not much she can do about that.

"Shut up, Callie.""Eat dirt, Draco." She responded, before turning to look out the window.
"Weasleys don't need your help." Fred's voice called from down the corridor.
Callie sighed, her mood about going back to Hogwarts thoroughly dashed. If there was anyone she genuinely didn't want mad at her, it was Fred. Fred was the first friend she'd actually made at Hogwarts, him and his twin brother, George. He thought she was brilliant, and said she had pretty brown eyes, and taught her about Quidditch and didn't treat her poorly for being in Slytherin House while they were in Gryffindor, or the fact that he was two years older than her.
But that seemed to have changed. He didn't seem to think she was brilliant, anymore. He didn't seem to like her much, at all.

"Quiet!" Professor R.J. Lupin had finally awoken, and there was a soft crackling and the man's face was illuminated by a handful of flames. "Stay where you are." He stood and moved for the door, but it slid open before he reached it and the flames shone on a figure as tall as the ceiling, wearing a long black cloak. Its face was hidden in its hood, but something told her it wouldn't be pretty. And then the thing beneath the hood drew a long, rattling breath, as though it were trying to suck something more than air from its surroundings. An intense cold swept over them all, so cold that Callie felt like her lungs froze. She couldn't breathe and her eyes rolled in her head and she couldn't see. She felt like she was drowning in a frozen lake she was being dragged deeper into the darkness and somewhere down in the dark she heard her voice saying 'If the Nefzens hadn't found me, I shudder to think where I might've ended up'.Series

Summary
Calidara Nefzen is a twelve year old witch adopted into a Muggle family who raised her right. Her mother is in Azkaban and her father is the most evil dark wizard of the past 50 years. She's the most detested student in Slytherin because she doesn't act like a Slytherin but she's obviously more likely to have opened the Chamber of Secrets than Harry 'the Savior' Potter, right?

"This is Calidara?" The redheaded woman asked, an undertone of nervousness in her words."Yes, ma'am. You must be Fred and George's mum. It's brilliant to meet you." Callie responded, offering her hand to the woman. Mrs. Weasley took it and clasped it between her hands. "These are my parents, Jemma and Edward Nefzen."
Her parents wasted no time moving from Mrs. Weasley to Hermione's parents, who Callie introduced as Drs. Granger, ("they're dentists!") while Mrs. Weasley examined her. "Well, I don't know what you were talking about, Ronald. She doesn't look evil, to me." The woman said, smiling brightly. "I rather think your brothers are right."
"Have you gone mad, mum?" George asked in a conspiratorial tone.
"You can't say things like that aloud! You're going to ruin our reputations!" Fred finished.

Summary
Calidara Nefzen HAD to go to Hogwarts. From the moment she heard Deputy Headmistress McGonagall say the name, she knew that she belonged at the school for witchcraft and wizardry. Her parents definitely weren't expecting a witch when they adopted her and they don't have a clue about magic, but they're just happy that she's happy. But with pure-blood supremacists bogging her down about her blood status and her newfound penchant for just knowing things she shouldn't know, happy might be a bit harder to manage than she originally thought.
This is the HP series with Calidara added and following her.

"So, you didn't know you were a witch, then?" Harry asked."No. Just always thought I was just really lucky." Calidara laughed. "Big shock to my parents, though. More than me, I think. I'm sure, when they adopted me, they didn't think they were bringing home a witch."
"Are they happy about it, though, or-"
"Well, Mum's a bit disappointed. Think she wanted me to be a doctor, like her, but... I mean, I could learn real magic! How could I pass that up?"
