There aren't labels to describe it, not ones Enji has yet found, but he knows he will linger on it, as he wastes away in his twilight years. Stroke these foolish keepsakes, captured in the frame of lingering looks in his mind's eye, sense memories of the hairs at the back of his neck pricking to attention when he had his back turned, quiet recollections of the shade of amber eyes by firelight- no. Nothing there. Nothing gained, nothing lost. Nothing to mourn.
There's enough for him to mourn already.
