There was a sound behind him. The sound of a lock being thrown. Then the heavy door was opening fully. And Ilya really hadn’t thought this night could get any worse.
“Rozanov?”
Ilya turned, looking up at the achingly familiar figure now leaning halfway out the door. “What the fuck are you doing here?”
Ilya returned his gaze to the far wall before closing his eyes. “Of course it’s you,” he muttered in Russian. He sighed, waving his keycard slightly. “Is my room. I thought.”

Summary
Rozanov concluded the interview with a nod, hefted his bag higher onto his shoulder, and turned to leave. Hayden’s first reaction was to notice that Rozanov had the same type of bag that Shane had brought to the arena by accident. That was then followed by the thought that it was funny that Rozanov’s bag had a worn out spot on the strap like the bag he’d been carrying earlier. And then some more capable portions of his brain informed him of the truth.
Shane had accidentally brought Ilya Fucking Rozanov’s bag to the arena.

Looking back at it now, how he longed for his own bed, he thought maybe his mother wasn’t lazy at all, but maybe her own mind and heart were just simply too heavy for her to lift. He hoped that practice would help his mood lift, and his medication would kick in. He’d be back to being himself. The rink was cold when Shane and he entered, hand in hand, and the loud chatter of his team immediately made a headache bloom behind his eyes.
Ilya is having a bad depression day, but at the end of it all Shane is right there to help him.
