Kathy got a concerning voice message from Nathan earlier in the week and drove up to visit him only to find him dead with Abaddon, who she still thinks is his human child, on his lap and mourning. As she tries to help him she quickly learns what Abaddon is and about the existence of the supernatural when Nathan returns as a ghost

This can be read completely independently of everything else in the series. This fic is kind of the most removed from the other one, there really isn't any added context from the others that will make this make anymore sense and is perfectly fine as a standaloneSeries
