Summary
Drunken and in stupor, Aerion stared down into his cup. This would fix him. This would make him whole again. He was a dragon. He always knew. This cup. This wildfire. This would return him to his rightful, natural form.
He downed the cup. At first, he felt nothing, the numbness from his intoxicated state protecting him briefly. And then a searing pain. Fire erupted in his insides. Aerion tried to stay quiet, tried to stay strong. Surely this was just a part of the transformation. Dragons were made for fire. But the pain did not subside. It became worse. Aerion screamed, fire escaping from his throat. Instinctively, he reached for wine, trying to stop the excruciating, unbearable pain. He downed a bottle. But wildfire burns through and through. Nothing stops this fire. Aerion screamed, fire escaping from his throat in a blaze. He collapsed to the floor, feeling his insides melting. He would just have to wake up. He’d be a dragon. That’s right. All of this pain will be worth it…
I am a dragon, Aerion thought.

Summary
Whoever the hell had walked into his classroom on the first day, sat right behind his desk, and said not a single word to him? He was a college professor so it's not like he should expect much, but it irritated him nontheless. Daemon made a mental note to reduce their grade by half for attendance that day. The silence continued on between them as he continued to write. Daemon's writing quickened as his irritation did, until he finally finished and nearly slammed the chalk down.
With his back still turned, he finally spoke.
“And who do I have the pleasure of not speaking with?”
There was still silence. Unbeknownst to him, Rhaenyra had chickened out and she opened her mouth; she could not produce a single sound.
Daemon finally turned around sharply.
And there she was.
All Things Targaryen.

Summary
Lohen was a sadist and masochist at heart.
Here he was, a Thursday morning, sore as an old dog and yet Knight Lupus Boreas pounded into him relentlessly. The sting he got from it was his high; pain was the pinnacle of Lohen’s life. At yet the same time he bit hard into the old Knight’s shoulder, eliciting a loud groan from the older man. A man double his age, and yet nothing stopped them from this. From this so-called “relationship.”

Summary
"You're right. The only reason I'd ever set foot into this 𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘺, 𝘨𝘰𝘥𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘴𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘯 place again is because of Father."
Wriothesley wanted to comment further, but instead kept his mouth shut.
"A shame you feel that way. I guess those living up on the surface wouldn't exactly consider the fortress a place of luxury, though."
"Can we start? You're wasting our time with small-talk."
Wriothesley nodded, and pulled out his files. They discussed the Knave's plan, which would require them to work closely with one another on several missions. They adjusted for the loss of two people, though the plan seemed to show them with little involvement anyway, suggesting that the Knave already knew Lyney wouldn't allow his siblings to set foot in Wriothesley's office again.
"Well, isn't that just fantastic?" Lyney said sarcastically.
"Well why not? I can't say I exactly enjoy your company, but I do believe we'd be able to work decently together, Mr. Lyney, whether you'd like to believe that or not."
"You're a terrible liar."
"Am l, now?"
"Yes."
