When Kirishima returned, hair damp, wearing the clean clothes from his bag, he looked at him with uncertainty. “Should I stay in my room?”
“If you want.”

Kirishima ignored him. “There was this part near the end,” he said, his voice quieter now, like he wasn’t sure if he should be saying this at all. “Where Peter talks about dying. He says something like, ‘To die will be an awfully big adventure.’”
He stopped walking, and he turned, blinking at Bakugo, his breath visible in the cold.
Bakugo’s chest ached. Not in the way it had been for months, not like emptiness, not like numbness, not like that slow, creeping weight that had settled over him like a second skin. This was different, because he understood.
Kirishima had always been the kind of person who asked without asking, the kind of person who never forced anything out of him but always knew when something needed to be said. And now, standing there, looking at him with those eyes Bakugo had always fucking loved, Kirishima was asking him for something again.
“Can you wait?” Then, softer, like he wasn’t sure if he should say it out loud, he repeated, “For this adventure, can you wait?”

Bakugou pulls a little, just barely tugging his lip down, staring at it as he does so."
