The thing was, if Emma was being honest, she’d find it easy to love Killian Jones. And Killian Jones was the type of bleeding heart where if given the chance, he’d die for her. He’d cradle her heart in his calloused hand, she’d lick his teeth and taste centuries of wanting, and whenever she’d ask, he’d growl at her feet like a hound dog with no home but her.
If given the chance, Emma would’ve bent her bones to please him; to see his crooked smile, to trace the scar on his cheek. If Emma let herself think, for even a second, of looping her fingers in the belt loops of Killian Jones’ jeans, she’d know that he’d follow her whichever way she’d guide him. She’d know that she’d never want to let go.
It scared her more than anything else in the world.
Or, in other news, Emma Swan - investigative reporter of the supernatural for the Boston Tribune - desperately dreamt of the day in which she'd bury her heart, so as to never to be found again . Unfortunately, Killian Jones had other ideas.

There was a river that ran through Storybrooke which weaved underneath the Toll bridge. Henry found himself sat there on the bank of that river scrawling morphemes and sentences in that trodden mud beside him. Half written stories of Camelot and Excalibur and two names on his grandfather’s dagger and he didn’t know what any of it meant.
The funny thing was, if asked, Henry couldn’t have told you how he’d gotten there.

Every Friday night, when Liam was a lad, his father used to take him into town to buy a fish. Liam would watch every damn Friday as the fishmonger gutted the cod; the knife that slid through the rib cage, the crack in the scales, and the glassy eyes that always, and without fail, looked at Liam. The fishmonger would wrap up its bloody corpse in a sheet of newspaper and every Friday night Liam would carry that heavy weight home. It’s cold body beneath rows of ink – the sluggish blood that slipped out from the cut. At the time, Liam had hated that fish. The stench it left on his fingertips. Now, Liam thought that fish might be the one damn thing in this world to really understand him.
Rewrite of season 1, in which Liam Jones is alive and runs a cafe with Killian.

Summary
Henry had taken to circling homes in the paper. Dreams of a better future in bright red ink that stained his hands and bled through the pages. Killian couldn’t find it within himself to stop the lad. He’d started talking about multiple bedrooms, and bathrooms, and front porches, and a place for Killian by his side as if that was where Killian belonged.
“I’m not your father,” Killian had said – both an apology and a plea. Perhaps he could’ve been in another life.

Most insanely beautiful fic as a s2 rewrite focusing on August & his transformation from man to puppet, to man once again - dipping into the tale of Pinocchio & various characters like Lampwick. Cannot rec highly enough!
"He had texted August a couple of times that morning but the other man hadn’t bothered replying to any of them until now. Of course, he hadn’t been texting anything important, so the lack of response wasn’t anything too troubling, but Lampwick was still relieved to finally hear from him.
Fishing the mobile from his coat pocket, he looked at the new message.
‘Stop texting me when it’s not urgent.’
Unsure as to whether he should take offence or simply laugh it off, Lampwick replied with a:
‘Why? :( ’
His coffee and pastry order arrived before the next text did. Taking it, he was just about to head out the door before his phone buzzed again. Opting not to risk dropping the paper bag or coffee whilst he checked the message, he set them back down on the countertop and pulled out his phone again.
‘Wooden hands don’t make typing easy.’
Because of course it would be twice as tricky for him. Even so, Lampwick swiftly typed back with a sarcastic:
‘r u sure ur not just mad that I’m interrupting ur very busy schedule of doing nothing?’"

Summary
Emma Swan came to the underworld with one purpose; to rescue the man she loved from Hades' grip. And she would do anything, sacrifice everything in order to make that happen. When Hades offers her a deal, a test of their true love, in exchange for Killian's life, she takes it. In the end though, the bargain might just take more from them than they have to give.
A season 5B canon divergence, where Emma rescues Killian by herself, with a different True Love test.
