They haunted him like the shadows his body cast under the light of the Erdtree - hunched, horned, and unwelcome.

Of course, the law did not make exceptions for good intentions... Letho was aware his choices could lead to trouble. Really! Not the least of which being that he couldn’t keep a child secreted inside the cabin forever, and living just outside of Leyndell made it... extremely likely that the royal guard might one day come knocking.
