Summary
The night between the fifth and sixth of June, 1832, might have been the worst night of Enjolras's lives, but it also happened to be the brightest, the zenith of the unquenchable sun stuck inside their heart, the point at which they felt every atom of their being fall into greatest alignment with the world around them. For that world, they would live it over a thousand times.
But Enjolras and modernity have an unfortunate tendency to go for each other's throats.
---
In 1832, Enjolras dies fighting in a suppressed insurrection. Now, nearly two centuries later, they discover that the political and ideological landscapes they'd once understood have both shifted and maintained themselves in the wrongest of ways. Furthermore, they find themself defined by a photograph on a news site and a sketch in a museum, and they need both of those pages to burn.

Summary
"[...]The blond man nodded and the interaction was over. It didn’t take more than a minute for a new wave of people to separate them, and Grantaire lost sight of him for the rest of the journey. Forgetting about everything else, he idly wondered what would have happened if it’d been a year ago. The Grantaire from last year would have probably managed to start a conversation, for starters, if only to hear his own words. There would have been fifty percent chance that he’d annoyed the hell out of the man, of course, but last year Grantaire would have said which means there’s fifty percent chance for a new friend or, hey, a nice fuck.
Last year Grantaire had always been very optimistic about his chances of seducing pretty people, despite experience proving him wrong more often than not."

Summary
"I like the way your mouth looks when you talk of revolution,” Grantaire confesses in a near-whisper, his head tilted helpfully towards Enjolras. He winks, and takes a long swallow of his drink, watching with interest as Enjolras slowly turns red.

Summary
Now he was older and calmer and generally happier, but sometimes he still longed for those days, and the fierce hope that had burned within him. He had thought he would change the world, but he found the world very resistant to change.
So he started smaller.aka it's been years since Enjolras last saw Grantaire, and things are different. Maybe this time they'll be older and more sensible and able to actually work things out.
