Miya Astumu was the most infuriating person Kiyoomi had ever met. He was loud, obnoxious, and rude. He had an ability to get under his skin with one look or teasing remark, his fox-like grin burned into his memory. No one had ever gotten to Kiyoomi like this. He could feel himself being provoked, being prodded for a reaction. It wasn’t the first time someone had tried to get a rise out of him, but it was the first time he had answered the call.
Atsumu and Kiyoomi never really saw eye to eye unless they were on the court. Their relationship consisted of teasing remarks and stubborn competition. But when Kiyoomi joins the Black Jackals, their relationship slowly starts to shift into something else.

"What's that supposed to mean?"
"Come off it, Kaoru, you're the smartest person I know. You have to have figured out — come on, do you seriously not know that I—" Joe bites his lip in frustration, hesitates for a moment, then " —fuck it."
And then Joe is kissing him.

He doesn’t have a headache. There are no offensive odors. Nothing is on fire. It seems an almost pleasant morning.
Then he opens his eyes and is faced with a glaring beam of midmorning-golden sun in his eyes and a shock of golden curls poking out of the covers and sprawled across his own bare chest where his newfound lover’s head lays.
