    If you haven't read that fic, I recommend doing so before reading this one!

    Sit back, inhale, and breathe. That had been the Parker way for as long as Peter could remember. Stressed over an AP physics exam? Sit back, inhale, and breathe. Become a superhero overnight, befriend the Avengers, go to space, die, come back to life, have everyone in the world forget about you…? Sit back, inhale, and breathe. Or at least, try. That last one took longer than the rest to sort out; but after a year of sitting down, inhaling, and breathing, he did (mostly) learn how to adapt and become (relatively) okay. And then tonight happened, and he thinks he’s going to have to do a lot more sitting down, inhaling, and breathing to process it. To be clear, he’s not unhappy about this sudden change of events, it's just that – well – he hadn’t really expected it, and now he has to determine how to proceed. Because Tony Stark – genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist, mentor – remembers him, and that changes everything.

    Three months after his existence was erased, Peter Parker was not doing so well. His solace came from knowing that at the very least he had managed to save his city in the end.

    Apparently, though, Peter realized as Doctor Strange explained to him that he had to give up even more, losing everything-and-then-some just wasn't enough.

    OR

    The multiverse continues to collapse in on itself. Doctor Strange discovers the source of the problem as Peter Parker. The only viable solution is to remove Peter from his original universe so that no more entities will be drawn to his presence there.

    Peter is sent to a world that lost its Peter Parker, and finds himself lost in a sea of people he'd grieved who had all grieved him in kind.

    Harley hesitates, before telling him, “If we succeed at bringing them back, we’d never be able to see them again.”

    Everything in Peter’s brain comes to a screeching halt.

    When Ansari said, “Your father is Tony Stark,” Tony prepared himself for his son’s disappointment and anger but all he saw on Peter’s face was confusion.

    He opened and closed his mouth several times, inhaling through his nose then slowly releasing the breath through his mouth. His eyebrows were furrowed and his nose was scrunched in a facial expression that read “okay, what the fuck.”

    “Okay, what the fuck,” Peter said.

    Peter Parker's known for his entire life that things just don't work out for him. Not with an Uncle prone to violence and his apartment on the wrong side of run-down. He's made peace with that, used Spider-Man as an outlet for the hunger and bruises.

    But then Tony Stark shows up, dressed in an expensive suit and carrying an internship opportunity. Peter can balance that on top of everything. He can keep a secret, he knows he can. And keeping this from Tony Stark won't be much different. Won't it?
