Zhang Hao really did not intend on 'catfishing' a man. It most definitely wasn't in his resolutions for the year. And yet here he was: adjusting his microphone's voice changer, putting his headphones on, and talking in the most coquettish voice of existence to a man he didn't even know personally, on a Korean MMORPG.
Or: Zhang Hao is very dedicated to the Jie he grew up with and hates scum men more than anything in the world. Hanbin happens to be his target in the matter, for better or for worse.

Summary
Zhang Hao needs to be loved, to fill the void that has been inside him his entire life. But his identity has to be hidden for the sake of his safety, and he's never had the luxury of a close friend or lover that would understand just how much is at stake for loving him.
But Sung Hanbin appears. Beautiful, bright Hanbin that has nothing but love inside of him to give. Hanbin who sees him come home after murdering a man and worries more about whether he got hurt than what he did to kill them. Hanbin who will fret over the few scrapes from the knife he uses to slit someone's throat. Hanbin who carefully bandages him up, promising to kiss his injuries better.
Hanbin deserves more than what Zhang Hao can give him. He cannot let him get tarnished by the unforgiving world he surrounds himself in. He deserves to shine, to let the world know of him—not to lie in the shadows with Zhang Hao.
Sung Hanbin is a burning star. But even the brightest of stars can't fall far from their sky.

Summary
Everest, like every other feat in Zhang Hao's near 30 years of living, does not come easy. It comes with months of preparation, of grit and perseverance. It takes a lot to go from a kid dreaming of becoming a star to one that gets closer to the ones in the sky instead.
Sung Hanbin, on the other hand, was perhaps made for high altitudes. It's like he belongs on top of the world and deserves nothing less. It's because of him that Zhang Hao doesn't plummet head first when the rest of their expedition gets killed that season up on Everest, and it's solely because of him that they make it off the mountain in more or less one piece.
At the end of the day, Zhang Hao has too many papers to write, too many manuscripts to review, and a dissertation that should have entirely nothing to do with the two month long trek that nearly killed him, but that unsurprisingly took his life by storm and refuses to let him think about anything else.
Enter Sung Hanbin into his life, beautiful and bright Hanbin that doesn't belong on the ground with Zhang Hao. And yet, they go to therapy sessions together every single Tuesday.
They revisit their budding relationship at a safer altitude this time.

It is in the summer that Sung Hanbin has Zhang Hao, and it is in winter that he loses him.
Zhang Hao has been dead for 632 days. Hanbin, to say the least, doesn't expect him to show up at his doorstep.
