You can barely make out her expression; your vision is spinning and the strings are tugging and your throat is constricting and there’s lightning everywhere, lightning zipping along Noelle’s fur as she gets close enough to the barrier for tiny bolts to take their escape on her, lightning behind your eyelids, lightning making you taste burnt acid on your tongue.
