    It’s not like Zoey blames her or anything. Of course not! It's just that, well…Rumi missed some developments so to speak (absolutely fucking everything that took the span of Zoey and Mira as friends to Zoey and Mira as Zoey-and-Mira)

    Zoey flattened her palm to Mira’s face, then trailed her fingers along her jawline, just as she’d replayed Mira doing to her in her head countless times before. It was sharper than her own, the bone and muscle solid beneath her fingers, but her cheek was soft and warm.

    She didn’t feel at all like a prince. There was everything to lose.
