    For a second, Kate’s heart stopped. Whirling around, she could only look at Anthony, momentarily speechless at what he had just said. Maybe she’d misheard him- he couldn’t have asked her to be his girlfriend. Could he? Was there a small possibility that he felt the way she did?

    “Well, pretend girlfriend, anyway.” Anthony amended.
