Summary
“Mr. Lecter—”
“Doctor,” he bit out before he could stop himself. Where did Jack find this one? He sounds impossibly young... too innocent to be making calls to men without the patience for him to gather his wits about him.
“Doctor Lecter,” came a squeaking response. “Forgive me for the interruption—”
“Please get to the point, Agent.” Another beat of silence, before the phrase he never wanted to hear spilled across the distance that separated them; words he dreaded as much as he did the cold. Words he hoped would never come, but knew to anticipate before the end.
“Agent Crawford asked that I call, sir. It’s Will Graham. I’m afraid he’s been injured.”
Hannibal’s phone fell from his numb fingers.
Will is hurt in the line of Jack's misguided sense of duty. In the wake of facing the very real possibility of mortality, can he or Hannibal keep their feelings in check?

Summary
“Friends?” he murmured, turning enough that Will was forced to relax into his chest. “Is that what we are?”
Will tensed, leaned forward and set his glass on the coffee table they’d used to prop up their feet. Hannibal took the opportunity to deposit his glass on its surface as well - in the same motion, he lowered his arm, let it fall over Will’s shoulders. Will snuggled into his arms, let his head tip back against Hannibal’s shoulder.
“Mm,” he agreed softly. “Friends are good to one another - friends take care of each other. And since today is the day to be grateful for such things…” he turned his head, caught Hannibal’s gaze, held it safely within his own. Hannibal swallowed, tried not to drown in endless blue.
“I’m grateful you’re in my life, Hannibal,” Will confessed, voice as soft as mist. “And while I’d be happy to call you my friend until the end of my days, I would be lying if I said I haven’t been waiting all day for you to kiss me.”OR

“Sure. What did you have in mind?” Hannibal leaned closer, as if to offer up some small secret for Will’s ears only. The scent of his aftershave was warmer the closer he got to his skin; it made Will’s head swim. Fuck. Why do you have to be so insanely attractive?
“As you stated, we are as close to strangers as two people who work in the same building can be. As such, I propose we make the most of the situation, and treat it as something like a blind date. We can talk as if we have never met, and see where the night leads. Are my terms acceptable?” Will hesitated for a brief moment before nodding. Fuck it. What do I possibly have to lose?After losing Alana to his own indifference, Will decides to get back into dating. When his attempts go awry, some help from his friends gets him back on the right track.
