Tired, after a long race, Max tells the media that he and George Russel are dating. It’s a joke. A poorly timed joke, maybe, but still obviously a joke, but not to the media or the fans who are engrossed by the story of two rivals turned lovers. The passionate love affair that had spilled into their off track dynamic.
It wasn’t meant to happen, but it did, and both the Red Bull and Mercedes team need to find a way to pick up the pieces before the situation got any more out of control.
