Hawks grin doesn’t drop in the slightest, but he does watch him hold up a hand, and his eyes widen when a feather zips from within his curls, and he catches it with his fingers. “I hid a feather in your hair last night, just in case, because I had suspicions, and I wanted to see if they were correct,” he returns the feather to his wing and straightens. “And, you know what, they were.”
He stares up at the hero and takes a step back, because his promise seems all too real now, and he can’t call bullshit on it, and stammers quickly, before throwing out—“You cheater!”
