Jisung emits a dry bark of laughter. He rubs at his eye with the heel of his hand. “I don't know. I probably just need some good head to take my mind off things.” It's a joke. It's very obviously a joke, but by the time Chan's brain belatedly registers this, his deeply ingrained instinct to protect his kids at all costs seems to have taken control of his motor functions, and his body has already moved to kneel on the floor by Jisung's feet. Jisung is gawking. Changbin is gawking. Chan is gawking, mortified at his own actions. “I...” Jisung squeaks. “Uhm, I was joking?”
Chan gulps. “Haha,” he says, entirely humorlessly. “Me too.” Still, neither of them move. Like a freeze frame. The longer Chan stays like this, the harder it's going to be for him to play it off as just a prank, bro. He needs to get up. Fuck, he really needs to get up, but when he motions to stand, Jisung inhales sharply and slaps a hand down on his shoulder to make him stay where he is.
“Wait, hyung, ha-hang on a second,” Jisung says, a note of urgency to his tone, fingers clutching at the fabric of Chan's sleeve. “Just... just hang on.”
