Chance was liked by all but known by none, always showing up with a game and a smile but slinking away with an excuse if anyone asked him if he was alright. Why had he started confiding in them?
“So… you in?”
“I see no reason as to why I should not. The Spawn had always approved of helping others, and our allies will be pleased to see a break in the routine.”
“Now we’re talking!” Chance’s grin stretched bigger, playfully slinging an arm around Two Time’s neck. “Watch out, ocean! You’ve got a pair of lean, mean, oyster machines on the loose!”
