Summary
Buck slips a finger under the bindings in a few places to check that nothing is too tight, and then steps back to admire his handiwork. Tommy is gloriously naked before him, a blush already starting to creep down his chest, half-hard just from the process of being tied up. Buck would tease him for it if he wasn't in a similar state himself. He loves how Tommy looks in the ropes, like his muscles can barely be contained. It does all kinds of things to Buck's ego that Tommy — who can easily bench press Buck's body weight on any given day — willingly gives up his strength and puts himself completely in Buck's hands.

“Five minutes out,” comes the response — and it’s Tommy.
Despite the urgency of the situation, Buck’s heart still flutters knowing that his boyfriend is the responding pilot. It’s not often they cross paths on the job, and while Buck’s certain Jim would much rather not be the catalyst for their meeting in the field, there’s no one better to do the medevac.

Eddie takes a breath, forcing himself to choke down the lump in his throat and speak clearly. “You need to come to First Presbyterian. Buck’s been in an accident.”

Buck’s dick perked up at the sight, and then he’d noticed the towel laid out at Tommy’s feet.

Buck loves it, loves hosting a big party for his family in their new house, but he also feels like he hasn’t had a chance to talk to his boyfriend all day.

“No,” Buck moans weakly, trying to push Eddie away. “Don’t wanna.”
Eddie’s heart, already beating fast for the last few hours, threatens to crack in two. He hates causing Buck distress but he’s out of options. Medication, fluids and ice packs haven’t worked to bring Buck’s fever down — and it’s creeping dangerously close to 103°F. His last-ditch attempt at a cool shower hadn’t worked either, only serving to make Buck even more miserable than he was already feeling after a day spent getting progressively worse.
“Please, sweetheart,” Eddie begs. “We need to go to the hospital. I’ve done everything I can here and I’m getting seriously worried.”

Tommy’s gaze slides lazily around the crowded room as he waits for Lucy to return. None of this had ever really been his scene: the pumping bass, the dim lights, the sweaty bodies gyrating together in one big mass. Even when he’d first started hooking up with men, he’d only stay in places like this long enough to follow an interested party into some dark corner before suggesting they relocate to somewhere more private.
Then Tommy’s eyes catch on a familiar head of curly hair at the bar, and time seems to slow down.

Ice pours into Maddie’s veins. She jerks her head in the direction of the voice, praying she’s just hallucinating after a long shift –
She’s not hallucinating. There, standing beside the dining room table, is the one person she hoped she’d never have to see again.
“Doug,” she rasps.
And then she takes in the rest of the scene.
Buck is sitting in a chair at Doug’s side. Duct tape is plastered over his mouth, his cheeks bulging in a way that means he must have something stuffed inside his mouth to further silence him, and his arms are pulled behind him and around the back of the chair, so he’s obviously restrained somehow. His eyes are wide and panicked, but he hasn’t moved an inch – probably because of the gun pressed against his temple.

It’s not enough to indicate a serious injury but given that Evan is the only other person in the house and that he hasn’t responded to Tommy’s greeting, Tommy feels his heart rate kick up.
“Evan?” he calls, walking faster. “Where are you?”
There’s another prolonged beat of silence – Tommy’s pulse spikes even more – but then finally, blessedly, he gets an answer.
“In the bathroom,” comes Evan’s glum reply.

Buck pads down the hallway and pushes the door to the kitchen open slowly. Sure enough, he finds Eddie inside, his back to Buck as he viciously scrubs the counter with a microfibre towel. A fond smile curls up the corners of Buck’s mouth.

Sickly sweet, like honey and cough syrup. Normally it’s a scent that has Buck’s heart soaring, but the smell combined with the fact that it looks like Eddie has stress-cleaned the entire house while Buck was on his 48-hour shift has guilt churning violently in his stomach.
