Summary
Alicia idly wonders if she’ll ever get tired of just being able to watch Leighton. She traces the contours of her cheekbones, the keen edge of her jaw, before settling on her mouth, slowly being stained blue as her tongue flicks out to capture more of the blue raspberry flavor of the candy cane.
The longer she watches, though, the warmer she gets. She blinks, surprised, thinking maybe her dad finally relented and turned the heat to a reasonable temperature where they didn’t have to bundle up while they were indoors, but normally Leighton’s the first one to complain about being too hot, and she’s still keeping her jacket tightly around her, so it can’t be that.
And then, it’s like everything slows down as Leighton readjusts the candy cane, her tongue swirling around the hook in a way that reminds Alicia of an activity that’s just a slight bit more adult than she’s comfortable thinking about in her parent’s living room.
“Okay, what is it?”
