Summary
American AU set in central Texas.
Charlie Spring transfers to Truham High in 10th grade to get away from the bullying he faced at his old school. He makes friends with Tao, Elle, and Isaac, and almost immediately crosses paths with Nick Nelson, and there’s immediate interest between the two of them. Then he finds out that Nick is the catcher for the Truham baseball team. Thaaaaaat’s a bit of a problem.
Charlie Spring hates baseball.
Nick Nelson is… mostly looking forward to the start of 11th grade at Truham High. He’s popular enough, has good friends, and is the starting catcher on the varsity baseball team. But Nick is tired. No one, not even his friends, seems to see him as anything as boring old reliable Nick. Then he sees Charlie Spring, and wow. Instant crush. Except… Charlie hates him.
Can Nick convince Charlie that baseball isn’t actually the worst sport in the world? Can Charlie maybe be the one person who sees past Nick’s façade?
Or, the accidental Pride and Prejudice and Baseball AU, with fewer siblings and absolutely no marriage.

Dream would kill him. Dream was going to kill him- he was going to- no, he wouldn’t. Dream was his friend- friends don’t hit each other- Dream was supposed to take care of him- Dream /was/ taking care of him.
It hurt to breathe. It hurt to think. He couldn’t clear his thoughts as he stumbled to the family computer, pulling up a tab on google and frantically typing the name into the search bar.
The words Technoblade Watson stared back at him, the little black bar at the end of the letters blinking slowly, mocking him.
Why, of all people, did it have to be Technoblade?

His eyes found the crowd, searching the stands and where some of them had filed down the stairs on to the field to celebrate. His spirit dulled, the corners of his lips falling, as he failed to spot a pink head of hair, or a green hat, or a specific set of brown curls.
So, they hadn’t made it.
It didn’t bother him. Really, it didn’t.

Tommy has it all—good friends, good grades, an amazing team, and a chance at being state champions. He doesn't need his family.
At least, it seems like they don't need him.
