Summary
It had been a few months since the situation with Kasper. Even just thinking about it hurt Lampert's heart. It hurt to remember how he was and his voice and how much he missed him. Sure, he could admit he had a crush on Kasper and that he'd had it for years. But that was Kasper.
Not Infected.
Everyone was doing their best to help with Infected's situation—at least, in whatever way they could manage. Dr. Retro was easily the one doing the most work as the only real doctor they knew that could fix his situation somehow.
But Lampert wasn't. He just couldn't do it. It hurt so much to even look at him. He couldn't accept it.
Eventually, though...Dr. Retro had to put her foot down. Over and over, "You need to try, Lampert," she had told him. At some point, he just sighed and nodded. Maybe he should try. So he tried.
And it was...a struggle. But maybe it wasn't so bad. Maybe...maybe Infected was alright, too.
