Summary
Tooru guides Tobio's head to the side and starts pressing apologetic kisses to the side of his neck, an attempt to soothe all the angry marks left there by him—hoping to melt Tobio into forgiving him, so Tooru can be free of this choking guilt already.
Tobio allows it for a moment, just long enough for the sick feeling in Tooru’s stomach to start easing, but before he can slip his shirt further down his collar, Tobio squirms away from his touch.
"Oikawa-san, I'm making coffee,” he says, his words stilted. “I might spill it on myself if you keep doing that."
*
Tooru has always had a penchant for self-destruction and Kageyama Tobio has always been his favourite way to do it.

Summary
"I know it's terribly rude of me to interrupt but I'm only here for a short while and I hope you'll forgive me if I want to spend a little time catching up with my junior before I leave?"
Alberto still looks flabbergasted by everything happening around him. "Junior?"
Oikawa remains undeterred and smiles angelically. "You don't mind, do you, Tobio's little friend?"
The fact that there is nothing little about Alberto makes the statement even more absurd.
*
Oikawa may or may not have come to Rome just to crash Tobio's date.

Summary
“It means you let me do awful things to you,” Tooru adds. “Isn’t that the same thing?”
“I don’t get what you’re saying,” he says plainly.
“You never do,” Tooru murmurs. His arms wind around Tobio and he pulls him tightly against his front. He holds Tobio like he is afraid of himself.

Summary
Kageyama Tobio was born in a Shinto shrine in Kyoto, raised in Sendai, and educated in Tokyo. For his entire life, he’d rejected being locked into any sort of constraining label: traditional omega, modern athlete, national treasure. He could be a top professional athlete and still visit his family’s shrine every summer. He could remain unmarried and childless but still embrace being an omega. He could love and hate his overbearing family at the same time. It had taken him a very long time to accept himself, but he’d succeeded in the end.
When Oikawa Tooru re-enters his life at the Tokyo Olympics, he brings all the insecurity and unstable misery of Tobio’s teenage years back with him.

Summary
Tooru eyes Tobio up and down, his features contorting with utter bewilderment.
A white track jacket and matching sweats. Black running shoes. And a familiar teal logo.
"Tobio-chan," Tooru starts. "What the hell are you supposed to be?"
"... Hinata told me I should dress up as something scary." Tobio's eyes flicker to the ground, his mouth twisting into that characteristic pout of his. There's a flush of red creeping up his neck, peeking out from the quarter-zip of his jacket. "And the scariest thing I could think of was... well..."
Tooru raises a brow. "An Aoba Johsai player?"
"Not just any Aoba Johsai player!"
There's a blur of orange and black, and Tooru's only just registered that Hinata's tackled Tobio when the two of them start squabbling violently, a mess of spastic limbs and yanking and punching. There's a garbled scream— then Tobio's poached Seijoh track jacket falls to the floor.
Realization hits Tooru all at once, the number 1 jersey staring right back at him.
