Revali fears he is going deaf.
He has only been able to hear Vah Medoh since he awoke on the back of his Beast, evil thrumming inside its being, cut off from everything but the sound of dying and suffering from the ancient artifact left to him to save their world. Altitude changes, explosions, smashing one’s head against the boards of the platform of the village one too many times; all good reasons for loss of hearing.
But he knows it’s just his Beast dying beneath his feet.or:

Blue eyes widen like the sky before daybreak, and Link signs, ‘You had a family?’
“Yes!” Revali snorts, the feathers on his neck ruffling indignantly. “What, did you think I fell out of the sky one day? I had parents too, you know!” Link still gapes at him dumbly, like that’s exactly what he believed. Asinine, really.
Feathers ghost over the Great Eagle Bow, its weight a welcome comfort, and Revali stifles a haunted sigh.

Before he is a Champion, Revali is a Master, an archer, a brother, a son.
One by one, Revali casts these titles aside.
