He realized those eyes stared at him expectantly. Oh shit! He missed the order.
John let out a little laugh and blinked a few times, "Sorry about that, I missed it. Can you repeat it?"
The man smiled back, "Can I get a.. Earl Grey with no sugar."
"S-Sure thing. I'll get it going. What's the name?" He held the marker to the cup in his hand.
"Simon. Thanks." He flashed John another smile and walked to the end of the counter to wait.

John MacTavish is late to the coffee shop he works at after a late night argument with his girlfriend the previous night. He can't shake the memory playing on a loop in his head until a voice snaps him out of it. The customer before him has him fumbling for words and smiling like crazy. He's never felt anything quite like it before and now in place of the memory of the fight, he can't shake thoughts of the mysterious man who has held his thoughts captive since. He can only hope to see him again.

“You know if you stare any longer you’re going to be drooling.”
Obi-Wan ignored Quin as he looked down at his phone, focusing intently on it as he changed his music to something with a quicker beat as he jabbed his thumb at the button to turn up the speed on his treadmill, ignoring the heat in his cheeks as Quin stared at him with a knowing look.
“He’s like fifty, Obes,” Quin informed him—as if Obi-Wan wasn’t aware that the man was definitely older than he was—and Obi-Wan huffed.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Obi-Wan muttered, “And also, he’s forty-two.”
Obi-Wan knows that it's rude to stare when people are just trying to work out—and God knows that he's judged others harshly for doing the very same to him before he'd found himself in an expensive building with its own gym—but there's something about the man that the office had dubbed 'hot divorcee' that makes something stir in Obi-Wan's gut.
Something that he definitely shouldn't follow, no matter how tempting it is.
Which works, until it doesn't.

Summary
The prophecy was as old as the conflicts between sentient kind. The galaxy had been a peaceful place in perfect balance until sentients learned deceit, betrayal, and conflict, and those gifted by what had been commonly known as the Force had splintered it into two. The Dark, and the Light. At first, they were equal. Neither good or bad, until those who sank into the Dark twisted it into something corrupting, and those who sank into the Light became self-righteous.
The Gods born of the Force created the prophecy to lessen the conflict to a level where the Galaxy wouldn’t be ripped apart. Every few thousand of years or so, the Dark and the Light would each birth a child into the galaxy to battle and determine which side would fall over the Galaxy.
Now the Chosen Ones are due to be born again, and the Jedi are desperate to keep the Galaxy in the Light as the Dark rise up once more.Bookmarked by izanami (dotis)
