Summary
Willow exhaled, resting her temple against the glass and closed her eyes. Hunter didn’t believe for a second that she would fall asleep, as her body remained coiled with tension.
“He just...” She whispered. “...wanted to see this world so much.”
Hunter could see it in that smile, in those weary eyes, hear it in her heavy voice.
Willow was absorbing Gus’s burdens to lighten his load. It was quite possible she was doing the same with everyone who surrounded her.
This left her own burdens neglected.
He understood how it felt to devote your entire self to the monsters that plagued the life of someone else. It withered away every fragment of yourself that belonged solely to you.

Summary
Murrit considers himself to be mostly in control of his emotions. Of course, there’s a few things he can’t account for, but those things, much like his wildest cards, remain up his sleeve, hidden from prying eyes of the people.
Then the best thing that ever happened to him is snatched away and suddenly, Murrit’s cards are all spilled on the floor and he doesn’t know what to do.
The Thief of Time runs out of time and it’s there for all to see.
