Summary
Marta de la Reina does take the metro, now and then. But she has a car and a personal parking spot, at home and at the company, and it would be a waste of resources not to use them. Besides, she likes to close the car door behind her and be on her own.
She gets enough stares on assignment, and this one may just be the most grating she has ever had: drafting strategies for a place of state officials who are not only exempt from firing but also seem to be exempt from cooperating with her. But Marta puts in the hours, Marta has the numbers, and Marta knows how to package them. Her track record is impeccable, and the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility will not put a dent into it.
(Or, Marta's car is at the shop, so she has to take the metro. To her chagrin. But then there's one fall of hair, one smile, and it's enough to derail Marta's bad mood. Or perhaps her entire life.)
