Ayda immediately understands that something is very wrong when Murderbot actually sits at Dr. Westmin’s direction. Her hope rises when it stands back up and says something angrily, and again when it steps forward threateningly.
That hope sinks when its body freezes- she knows it wouldn’t do that to itself in this situation, not with how angry it obviously is- and sinks further when, after Dr. Westmin says something, it steps back, and fully nosedives as she watches it dispassionately work through some sort of list of instructions Dr. Westmin is giving it.
