“Any other spells you’d like to try out, sorcerer?”
The light reflected on Mike’s face blinks like a message in secret code, spelling out all of Will’s thoughts. Except maybe it’s not just a reflection, after all. Because, there: a signal, as unmistakable as a lightning flash; a record scratch; a beat that breaks the repetition to establish a rhythm. Mike’s eyes fall to his lips, and all the rest of the world is static.
“Not just now,” Will says, before pretending to think it over. “But there are a couple of tricks.”
Will puts his new powers to use, and Mike finally gets with the program.

Summary
Will thinks he’s dreaming. Mike decides to think it’s because of Will’s fever, when the idea of his best friend being convinced it’s more likely that he’s imagining it than for Mike to touch him makes Mike’s stomach drop uncomfortably.
“Sleep, Will. I’m here, I’ll always be here.”
Mike takes advantage of the half-unconscious state his best friend is in and lets his heart spill just a little, just enough for a few drops of what he feels for the boy in his arms to drop and land on his tongue.
“Love you.”
Will mutters, right into Mike’s chest, right over his heart - making it stop beating for a few long moments, when Mike’s world drops on its axis.

Will is sick and confesses to Mike while out of his mind due to the fever. Mike has a breakdown about it.

Mike keeps his face neutral while El drinks, as is his ex-boyfriend-turned-best-friend duty. He sees a little movement out of the corner of his right eye, though, and he turns to follow it.
Will is taking a hit off his joint.
“Wait…” Mike says, cutting off Lucas in the middle of his never-have-I-ever announcement. His gaze doesn’t waver from Will’s face. “What?”
