Why did he have to get Laurent for Secret Santa? What the fuck did you get the person you had a giant crush on for Christmas when he made it his mission to say something derisive about everything, just for fun?
Damen’s feelings were distracting at the best of times let alone when alcohol got involved. It didn’t help that Laurent was unobtainable, Damen was fairly certain he had crushing the hopes of men on his CV under special talents and interests.

Ilya does mind. Hearing it said back to him, almost makes him flinch, a sudden and brittle sound right next to his ear that he fails to recoil from in time. But he swallows back the bitter truth and replies, “Of course not. If that is what you want.”
He waits, sitting on his living room couch, phone pressed painfully against his ear, his other hand gripping his knees till his knuckles blanched. He could feel his own heart rattling behind his ribs, pulse rockingloudly. His mind was an echo of alarm, demanding of him: Why isn't Shane saying anything?
It was the loudest silence he’s ever lived through, until Shane finally said, “Okay.”
OR: inspired by the fight in TLG where Ilya tells Shane he can sleep with other men. But this time, Shane actually takes the offer.

The thing was Ilya Rozanov did not give a shit about the proper chain of authority. To be fair, he was an IT guy, replacing their old prick of a technician Theriault who’d gone mad and compromised their entire network because the General Manager’s daughter rejected him, so they weren’t exactly working in one branch and Rozanov did not truly answer to him, but still.
He shouldn’t’ve called Mr. Hollander, the very Head of the very Finance Department, with the golden plaque on the door of his very own office, a collection of designer cravats and a bunch of prestigious certificates along with the letters of gratification from the company, Shane the first time they interacted.
That was precisely the way Hollander had learned about the aforementioned lack of shit Ilya Rozanov gave about subordination.
or, office!au where Shane is a big important head-in-the-ass manager with no sex (or any other personal) life outside of work and Ilya is a new hire who rocks his whole world upside down. Also, Ilya hates but secretly has a thing for him always wearing neckties.
