Katsuki sighed and looked at Izuku with tired eyes. There wasn't any sadness or fear in his expression.
"I love you, Izuku. You're not useless at all. You're my everything. I'm doing it all for you."
Izuku sat down numbly in Katsuki's office as he watched him leave. He didn't expect it to end like this. He hadn't expected it to end at all. And Katsuki didn't even fight for him. He didn't want to go back to their little studio apartment so he went to his mother's house and cried in her arms.
'How could he say that he loved me and then just leave me?" Izuku whined.

Or, Izuku and Katsuki get together at the end of their third year and eight years later, face cracks in their relationship. Katsuki makes sure that his efforts aren't in vain.

After graduation Katsuki and Izuku decided to move in together. First they lived as friends and, soon after, as partners. Katsuki is the hero he always said he would become, and Izuku is, well, figuring out who he is now that he’s quirk less: again. It's hard to watch someone live your dream, but Izuku is making a new dream. Not so differently from before, katsuki is still at the center, after all. But now, as a husband, and maybe one day, as a father. Some things never change; like the fact Katsuki is still Izuku’s hero, and Izuku Katsuki’s. They are infinite. Nothing, they think, could break it all apart.

Summary
The air is prickly with tension and Izuku has no choice but to let the tea burn his tongue as he sips from his mug at the lack of anything better to say. He’s halfway through his cup when Kacchan finally turns towards him, head tilted down once again. His disposition is so unlike the Kacchan from Izuku’s memories, the Kacchan from television screens and newspaper headlines. It makes Izuku catch his breath.
Of all the things Izuku suspected to hear, as if this day hadn’t been crazy enough, it would never be this: “I’m sorry, Izuku.”
Izuku's whole life changes when Kacchan revisits him with an apology.
