Summary
Living in any part of the magic wilds was always a bit more dangerous, more unpredictable. Creatures lived in those places that were bloodthirsty and unreasonable, powerful dark witches preferred the rush of power and plentiful hiding places of the wilds, and the unrestrained magic in the air could be a nuisance. It was rarely anything sinister, but sometimes a front door would change shape or a road would go in a different direction or fates would be intertwined a bit earlier than intended. Sometimes an agent would hope to wear her favorite blue shirt and find it was now magenta with green spots instead. It took a calm nature to live in a place like that. Or a penchant for chaos.
Kate and Lucy are both witches who live in a world parallel to our own that's full of magic. They banter, flirt, solve magic crimes, and Kate has a major professional revelation.

1.5 oz pineapple rum, 3/4 oz. blue Curaçao, 3/4 oz. coconut cream, 1/2 oz. fresh lemon juice and 2 oz. pineapple juice. Combine in a shaker w/ ice. Pour into Hurricane glass. Drop your cherries right in there and read about an entirely AU version of Kate and Lucy meeting.

What if Kate Whistler had run into Lucy Tara one summer day in DC? What if it was AU and yet felt so very canon? What if it was a fic so well written missing it would be a tragedy and a crime?
Then I guess we’d have to read it over and over and send all the love to its fantastically talented author.Seriously: the characterization is amazing. The dialogue, incredible.
If the measure of fic is to remind you how much you love the characters and their relationship, this made me fall in love with them even more.
