Summary
Afterwards, Buck would not have been able to recall what he was doing, sat on the couch in the living room, before Eddie came into the room, fresh from the shower, wearing nothing but a towel and still a little damp.
'Hey, Buck,' he says, running a hand through his hair, water dripping from the ends on to his chest, 'could you do me a favor?'
'Sure,' says Buck, barely managing not to choke on his own tongue as he takes all of Eddie in.
'You know I had my annual physical the other day? The doctor gave me these pamphlets, shit we've got to look out for as firefighters—.'
Before Buck can spiral too far Eddie waves him back into his seat with a casual gesture, taking a step further into the room, 'I'm fine, but he said I should be keeping an eye on my moles.'
He turns out a leg, way too much of his muscular thigh peeking out from under his towel for Buck's sanity, and twists at the waist to look over his shoulder, 'but I can't really see the ones on my back. Can you check them for me?'

Summary
“Look,” Buck says. “It’s not like I-I’m gonna move back in or anything, but you're still in pain. A lot of it, and I know you’re trying to downplay it—don’t look at me like that—so just let me help out with stuff for a couple days.”
Eddie quirks his lip at him. “You wanna rub ointment on my cast rash?"
“Who else would,” Buck says. It was supposed to be a question, lighthearted, but it’s just there. It hangs in the air, a miasma of all of Buck’s fully-realized feelings stinking up the place.
It’s gonna be a long six to eight weeks.
Three months after Buck moves out and two days after Buck realizes he’s in love, Eddie gets badly injured on the job. Buck unofficially moves back in to look after him.
He’s gonna be normal about it.

Summary
“It’s Eddie.” At her expectant look, he scoffs. “Taylor. Even you have to admit. He’s great. He’s funny, he’s a handsome firefighter, and most normal people would find what a wonderful dad he is attractive. He sent me a photo of the sweater he was going to wear tonight, and he looks really hot!” Buck wags his finger. “Claudia is missing out, I’m telling you.”
Taylor doesn’t reply for a long moment, long enough that Buck starts to worry.
“What?” he asks.
“Nothing,” she says, in a way that doesn’t sound like nothing.
Buck tries to set up Eddie. It goes well for absolutely no-one involved. (a 5+1 fic)

Summary
“Oh. You’re—uh.” Should he—say something? Why would he say something, though. Just because this isn’t something they do… Eddie’s clearly fine with this, initiating this, and Buck—there’s never a time Buck doesn’t want this, want this bad. So why would he say you have a bed right there and come off as a dick when they’re both perfectly fine with this.
Or, worse in ways that are both hysterical and heartbreaking, come off as vaguely homophobic or make Eddie uncomfortable about the way he’s currently spooning Buck like he’s been doing it all his life.
He settles for a lighthearted, “Are you drunk?”
Eddie sighs sleepily, breath tickling Buck’s neck. “Yeah. Kinda.”
or, getting little-spooned by his drunk best friend was not on buck's maid-of-honour checklist, but. it's happening

Summary
Karen sits on the coffee table across from him, leaning in and placing a steady weight on his knees.
Above them, he hears, “Did something happen to Buck? Should we call Maddie?”
Eddie chokes, sitting upright, and looking over his shoulder at Hen, “No,” he says, voice gravelly. “Do not call Maddie.”
“Okay,” Hen says, frowning. “Why?”
He groans, turning back around and burying his face in his hands again. “Because Bucks probably already told her and there’s no doubt I’ve jumped to the top of her to be killed list.” He looks up. “Don’t tell me she doesn’t have a to be killed list, because I guarantee she does now.”
“Okay. What’s going on?”
He takes a deep breath, shaking his head. “I kissed Buck.”
